What I Ate This Week

OK, OK, so I needed to make one more post at the end of this week.  While it couldn’t possibly pack the punch of the amazing lunch earlier in the week at Take the Cake, a friend and I were headed to lunch at Mayberry when we turned on Court Street and saw this:

I’ve written about Avril Bleh before—they’re my favorite butcher and curer of sausages in Cincinnati, and they have a lovely outdoor grill in the summer where you can get them grilled right in front of you.  But a sandwich shop?  THAT’s interesting!

The interior of the place is spartan—it looks pretty new.  I think the intent is for the quality of the goods to speak for themselves, so the focus is on the menu board.

It’s hard to choose, but I ultimately went for the Smokemaster brisket sandwich, and it was very impressive!  The brisket had the pink ring of goodness and had a simple but tasty bun that held up to all the weight—it was a big sandwich!  I hope to get back soon to check out some more of the choices there but I thought you guys should know.  If you’re near Court Street and are looking for some fresh and delicious meats—you needn’t wait for summer any longer!  Enjoy!
